This was New Year's eve at our house this year. Ruby's first sleepover. Three 3-year-old girls in one room. Lots of hilarity and jumping on and off beds ... until suddenly it went quiet... and this is what we found when we peeked in. They'd found Ruby's 'sewing game' (in which you lace up cardboard cutouts) and were quietly and studiously lacing. Too cute. We didn't take many photos ... we were too busy with the poxed one (see next post!).

Leah gets poxed

Ahh, Santa!! Said Leah. I said 'new sox' not 'chicken pox' ya deaf old fruit loop.

Eleanor comes to visit

After Christmas, Eleanor and her Mum, Cathy came to stay for a few days. Owen took these shots while the Mums escaped for an hour or two (who knew buying new knickers could take so long!). Ruby appears to be specialising in silly faces this day.

Ruby's Christmas

Helping Hannah and Gareth get into the Christmas spirit.
And giving a beautiful smile at the post-tree-decorating BBQ. Making patterns with the window decorations Grandpa and Gillian sent her, while wearing the beautiful sparkly dress that also came from them. How they keep on getting the sizing right for a kid they see once every couple of years amazes me! Specially when I keep getting it wrong!
Granny sent a soft toy. Looks like a lettuce ...... but what's inside ...?
Ah! Good lord, it's a bunny!! And he has friends!!

Grandad and Nan came over a couple of days later and got suckered into reading stories before bedtime. Didn't take much arm twisting! Leah provided background piano music.

Until she realised Ruby had a book and then it was full steam ahead to try and get hold of it. See the expression on Ruby's face. She knows what Leah's intentions are!And swiftly orders her back to the piano!

Leah discovers Christmas

Christmas to a baby = wrapping paper (yum) ...
... and tinsel ... cool!!! Boy you can do a lot with that stuff!! Shake it, rip it, pull it, wave it, pull bits off and eat it ...
And someone always has to put the santa hat on the baby...
Why aren't you letting me take it off?? I need to taste it!!Oh, ok, I get it - you want me to look cute? How's this?
Work it kid, work it... that's the one!

Uncle G rules the roost

Leah adores Uncle Gareth now.

See?

And now we understand why ... babies instinctively know not to bite the hand that feeds them!

... and feeds them ...

... and feeds them ...

Photos of the girls

Before Xmas we also snapped some pics of the girls to put in magnets and things. Can't be just me who thinks they're too cute for words!

Family pics

While we were at Hannah and Gareth's we got some family-type pics taken. Oh, and Ruby coloured! Lovely study of concentration.

Croquet and twirling

A week or 2 before xmas we went to Hannah and Gareth's house. Ruby learned to play croquet. But mostly Ruby twirled in her green dress.
