A little trip away

We spontaneously went to Rotorua this Easter weekend - to catch up with good friends we hadn't seen for ages who were up from Wellington. We were too busy to take many photos but on the first day Owen took Ruby and Dave took Jack out on paddle boats on the lake. Ruby's too cool to wave but did grace us with a smile. Owen says "of course she's smiling, she didn't have to pedal the thing!!"
Then that evening we were kindly invited for tea at Jack and Ollie's Grandparents' house ... we all had a great time!!
Olly and Ruby had a 'silly face competition'. I think Olly won!!

Our littlest baby turns one!

What better way to start the big day than in the bath with some pink-icing-covered beaters?Leah discovers the delight of balloons...
Ruby and Leah in 'fairy' dress ...Leah got a trampoline for her birthday thanks to the combined efforts of all the grandparents! You can't really tell, but she's laughing so hard she can barely breath ... see the veins on the side of her neck? Serious fun!!!

A clear case of child neglect

Poor Leah, she never had a chance ... we let her hang out with the local motorcycle riff raff CLEARLY don't feed her enough ...
Yes, that IS the soap. Yes, some did get swallowed before I fished the rest out of her mouth. Sorry, no, she did not fart a bubble. Although I did watch just in case.
No, she's not licking the carpet (altho I truly wouldn't put it past her). Can you guess?

That's right. She's asleep. Forgot to put her to bed ... CYPFS is opening a case file as we speak.

More random pics

Aunty Tasha sent some lovely xmas presents for the girls. A new dress for Ruby... (she's trying to make it twirl - her favourite activity). And some wrist rattles for Leah... Ruby conquers the local flying fox!
While Leah enjoys a swingLeah now has ownership of Ruby's old bike, to Ruby's delight...And ... sisters ...

A few random pics

Finally! We've figured out what Leah's going to be when she grows up. A builders crack like that leaves no doubt in our minds.
Our paper recycling box is a great source of entertainment. Good for keeping a certain baby busy while dinner is cooked ... so long as you don't go for a slide on the generously scattered paper!
This child is a fiend for the wet wipes! Adults in this house are VERY careful to ensure wet wipes are kept well out of reach, otherwise we go thru a packet a day.
Back when she was learning to crawl she started off by going backwards ... and getting stuck just about everywhere...
