Busy times!

It's been a busy couple of weeks in the Thomson household! First we went to visit with Anna's Aunty and Uncle in Tokoroa. We all had a great time and the 3 papillon dogs were very excited to have Ruby to play with. Leah yelling in protest at a nappy change had them all curious, and Jack the puppy even joined Ruby on the couch for a story. Unfortunately the batteries on our camera had run out for all of those little moments - darn it!! Aunty Ruth is an op-shop hunter extroadinaire and had found a stuffed horse's head! Half an hour in the garage with Uncle Bevan and it was reborn as a hobby horse + luggage carrier (!?). Ruby was in love and despite the freezing temperatures, took it outside to gallop up and down the street. Must be something to do with the family - when Anna was a little girl, she used to ride horses when she went to visit these guys too (albeit, real ones!).Ruby also was lucky enough to be given a bag with Pooh Bear on the front and wonder of wonders, it had a book inside too - another in a favourite series of hers, just by chance!Back home again and a horrible rainy afternoon called for some cookies to be baked and decorated. Great fun - even if Mummy had to ring a friend in Wellington to find out how to make coloured icing (durr!). Not sure what part of "make icing, add colouring" was confusing, but it was!
While the big girls were decorating cookies, Leah discovered her shadow. Owen thinks she was making shapes on purpose; Mummy isn't quite so sure, but it makes a cute photo!Speaking of cute - check out the wonderful cardy another (far more domesticated and talented!)Anna made for her.
